Setup & Installation
Find the “Product Reviews by Monto” app in the app store and click Install.
Using the Monto Reviews widgets, embed a reviews widget on your products page template. We recommend using the “Star Rating Only” layout right underneath the product title or price and then further down the page use the “Masonry” or “Horizontal” layout. You can also add a reviews widget on your homepage which displays all of your product reviews to your customers – we recommend using the “Masonry” or “Text Slider” or “Image Slider” here.
In the Monto app, go to the Settings > Options page in the bottom left menu. Here you can upload your shop’s logo which will appear in your review request emails to customers.
In the Monto Reviews Customize page, you can edit the colors and style of the reviews widgets and the email that gets sent to customers.
On the Configure page, add your shop's email address for replies, choose whether CTRs (“Call to Review emails”) are sent manually or automatically (only available for Ecommerce sites), and ensure everything is set to your preferences.
Once customers submit reviews, you can publish them, unpublish them, send a reply, or even mark them as featured (useful for homepage review sliders in particular) on the Browse page!

How do I embed reviews on my site?
In the site builder, find the Monto Reviews widget, and drag it onto your site where you’d like the embed reviews. Using the settings panel, select the widget layout and options suitable to your use. Publish the site and see the widget live!
What do I need to do in order to give my products a Rich Snippet in Google results?
If you're using Monto Reviews, nothing 😀.
By default, Monto will add HTML markup to your page to give you Rich Product Review Snippets for all your products.
What are “Call to Review” emails and how do they work?
Call To Review emails (also known as CTR emails) are what we optionally send to your customers after they purchase from you, requesting they leave a review for what they bought.

Can I send the “Call to Review” emails manually instead of automatically?
Can I import reviews from other places into Monto?
Absolutely! We’ve created a template you can use to format them so that they can be imported to Monto. https://help.monto.io/en/articles/6412778-can-i-import-reviews-from-other-places-into-monto
Once formatted, please email the file as a .csv to [email protected] and we’ll take care of the rest on our end.
What counts as a verified review?
Reviews are only marked as "verified" if they came directly from one of the following sources:
Call to Review Email – these are emails that are sent by Monto after a customer completes an order (can be sent automatically or manually or disabled)
Customer Portal Review Buttons - Monto displays a "Review" button in customers' portals for all fulfilled orders placed by that customer
We restrict the verified badge to these reviews in order to increase trust for all our customers and their customers. The higher the trust, the more likely your visitors are to buy your products or services!
Can I let customers review my entire site?
Yes you can! While the base code for reviews widgets was primarily designed for individual product or CMS pages, it also has the capability to be used to review your site as a whole.
How can I translate the Review widget into my language?
Monto will automatically detect your customer's browser language and translate the review interface (not individual reviews) into a customer's local language if we currently support it.
