What's the difference between a "pending" and an "abandoned" cart?

Updated over 4 months ago

Here is how we define each cart status on your Carts page (which you can see here):

Pending - Means the cart exists but we haven't begun the recovery process.

No Email - The customer has not entered an email on their cart yet and so no emails can be sent to recover their cart.

Recovering - Means that we are actively attempting to recover this cart for you by sending emails that you have set up in Stages.

Purchased - Means that a cart we tracked has completed an order normally in your store without first receiving a recovery email.

Recovered! - Means that a cart which was abandoned has returned and completed checkout after receiving emails from your store via Monto's recovery process. This is our contribution to your bottom line!

Abandoned - This status indicates that the cart has been inactive and still has not checked out 14 days after receiving your Abandoned Cart email flow from Monto. We consider these carts to be truly abandoned.
