Monto makes it easy to manage ongoing recurring subscriptions and let you know when its time to send out the next shipment to a customer.
We have recently added two options you can enable in the Monto configure page.
Enable email notifications for each recurring subscription charge
In the Subscription > Configure page, you can add your email (or multiple emails separated by commas) to receive a notification every time a customer's subscription is charged and renews for another term.
Note: This does not send a notification for the first initial order as Webflow or other platforms will send that by default.
Automatically create a new order in Monto for each subscription charge
Since most shops use orders to alert them when a purchase has been made and to send out a shipment to the customer, we decided to allow the Subscriptions app to generate a new order in the dashboard for each charge.
To turn on this feature, go to the configure page and enable the option titled "Make recurring subscription orders show up as new orders"
In the Monto orders page, each subscription renewal will now generate a new order item. It will have the same order number as the original order but include a "-#" after it which marks the number of times it has been charged.
โ
In this case below, this order was the 2nd charge after the initial purchase made on the site. So it has "-2" after the original order number.
Clicking into the order, you will see the subscription info box now includes a note that it is the second renewal order of this subscription as well.
In the history section, you will see a timeline of the original order with a link to it and the most recent renewal charge.
The renewal orders have their own fulfillment status for easy order management. They will also contain the original order information for easy reference such as the customer name, shipping address, email, etc.
Orders with Multiple Subscription Products
If a customer's order contains multiple subscription products, we will send you a separate email and create a separate 'faux' order for each product contained within it.
The naming convention for these renewal orders includes a letter after the number to indicate separate products. (Example: ...-5a and ...-5b indicate that there are two different products and that this is the fifth charge of the subscription)
Note: these renewal orders will not show up on your website builder platform such as Webflow. They will only be visible in Monto's order panel. Any tracking information added to these orders will not be sent to the customer and must be done manually by you for now.
