Monto's Currency Converter app allows you to set the default format that is used for converted prices on your site.
By default, this is:
[Currency_symbol] [price] [currency_code]
Example:
$ 19.95 USD
This format (especially the currency code) helps ensure your customers understand exactly what is being displayed to them because some currencies use the same symbol. If your store is based in the US, but sell to Canada and Mexico, then a price that only displays the symbol (like $19.95) might be confusing since a customer in Canada or Mexico might assume it is their own currency. The code makes it clear.
Changing the Price Format
However, you can change this if you'd like – for all currencies and even set custom formats for individual ones.
Base Format
To set the base format, go to Currency > Configure page in Monto and set your preference using the dropdown.
Then click Save.
Individual Currency Format
If you want your home country's format (for instance – or any other) to use a different format, you can also set that here as well.
Click Add Exception and enter the currency code and the format you would like it to have.
Click Save
